To me, this seems like a ridiculously obvious tip I'm just posting as a ploy to get more blog traffic, but who knows? It might help some of you out there.
And I've mentioned it elsewhere on here before, so sorry for the repeat.
Keys! We have a hook right inside our door for my keys, another for hats and what-have-you, and a third for hub's keys. He never uses his hook and is always losing them. I, however, like many other things, have a system: I walk in, immediately hang up my keys and my purse (that goes on the bannister), and then they are ALWAYS there when I need to leave again.
Brilliantly simple, and simply brilliant, no?
Fin.

I have a small longaberger basket that hangs on the inside doorknob of our front door and serves the same purpose. I can't tell you how many years I spent looking for my keys before the solution occurred to me...
So simple, yet brilliant!

We have a bowl on our piano right inside the door, and my keys (and other important things) go there so I always know where they are. It's saved me a lot of trouble!

I am all about keeping things in their places. Keys, purse, cell phone, dog leash. They all have homes.
