Since it's such a great week for grocery shopping this week - what with Harris Teeter tripling coupons up to 99¢ and Farm Fresh doubling coupons up to $1 - I printed the good June coupons off coupons.com and spent the morning playing the coupon game. I love the challenge of finding good deals, getting things for free or almost free, that we can use.Anyway,Sophie sat next to me, practicing her writing. She wrote her name, above, on our Game of Life points chart. Didn't she do such a wonderful job? I think it's lovely work for a four-year-old - and she's a lefty!
I didn't sleep well last night, so I offered the kids 50 points each if they would take a good nap (letting me take one, too). They slept for three hours! It was great, I really needed that.
They woke up just as Chloë was getting home, so I had them clean their rooms while I showered and dressed. We were going to work on laundry then, because there is a huge mountain I have been pretendng not to see for a while now, but it was time to get ready and got to Tap class.
We all went, so I could do my Harris Teeter shopping while Curly Girl was in her class. Rob and the kids waited outside in the car. I got lots of good stuff super cheap or free, so it was a successful trip.
After dance, we came home so I could read my shop information, and then drove to Norfolk. Today's shop was a new one for me: I was going to donate plasma, get paid for it, and then get paid for the shop, too! Little did I know that it was a two-hour process, and we got there a half-hour before closing, so I couldn't perform it. Hopefully I can reschedule for Saturday, because I'd love to be a donor. And you can do it every seven days, so I'm there!
I dropped everyone at home and then went out to Farm Fresh. I did two separate orders, since they only double up to 20 coupons per visit. The first order, I spent $19.38 and got $33.69 in free stuff. The second order was even better: I saved 81% of my total, spending only $6.83 and getting $26.50 free! The cashier told me I rocked.
The bummer part is that I can still go back and buy more free things with the coupons I have, but we don't have the room for any more! The fridge is full, the freezers are packed, and the pantry is overflowing. Too bad, I hate to waste the opportunity.
When I got home, Rob had fed the kids dinner (some yummy BBQ chicken that I ordinarily wouldn't like, but I managed to savor a few bites before puking them back up..., corn, and I forget what else), gotten them to clean up the living room, and Chloë was doing her homework. Jack was hauling Bounce around like a baby. He's such a great little bunny, so sweet and soft and patient. We really do have great pets, even if our dog is neurotic.
Oh, and I rented three free movies from Redbox for their now once-a-month freebie night: Hotel for Dogs for the kids, and Bride Wars and BTK for us. Seen 'em? Hopefully we'll get to watch them all before they have to go back tomorrow night, but I don't want to miss Conan's first night on The Tonight Show!
Are you going to watch? I ♥ him.
Okay, time for Wii Fit. I haven't done it in a couple days...
Fin.
