I'm playing along again. Link up here if you are, too!
what are your most common nicknames?
A lot of people call me Mel, which I hate. My dad calls me Mellie-Ann. My sister changed that to Smellyann. That's about it. (Well, Rob has some choice nicknames for me sometimes, but you're not privy to those...)
what is today's weather?
Hotter than blazes, I'm sure.
where did go on vacation this year?
Western & Central New York
what did you do there?
Visited my sister and nieces, and then visited my high school friends. It was great!
where did you stay?
First at my sister's, and then at a semi-decent hotel outside of Syracuse
what job do you do?
First and foremost, I am a stay-home mother. I also do a lot of mystery shopping, and I am the Director of a charity my husband and I founded. Right now, I'm applying to be a substitute teacher since my youngest is going to all-day school this year.
describe where you live.
I like it a lot. We're 15-20 minutes from a really nice oceanfront. It's a bit military community, so we get lots of nice perks and discounts for that (hubs is in the Navy). There are a ton of family-friendly things to do. The only bad thing is the traffic, which can be hellish at times.
what do you usually do on weekends?
No one thing. We always do different things. Sometimes we swim, sometimes we vegetate, and I usually do a lot of mystery shops. Right now there are a lot of scouting activities going on for our son, and September will bring more for our older daughter.
what food hits your 'bliss spot'?
Duh! Chocolate. Although I can't eat it anymore, so a very close second is hummus. I love the hummus.
what drink really does it for you?
I love my Caffeine-Free Diet Coke, yes I do.
describe the first friend that comes to your head.
Okay, it was Erin (surprised?), and I love her. She's very smart and knowledgeable about all things nature. She is kind and considerate, and she's very pretty. I think she gets lovelier the older she gets, and I'm so fortunate that we have rekindled our friendship these last five years!
what was the last restaurant you went to?
Does Quiznos count? Then that.
where would you like to live if you had unlimited moneys and nothing stopping your dreams?
Well, our dream after hubs retires in four years is to sell our house, put our stuff in storage, take our kiddies and live on a houseboat. I will homeschool the children while he sails us around the world, giving them the childhood experiences beyond our wildest dreams.
what is the likeliness of you achieving this dream home?
I don't know. We've been talking about it a lot lately. It could really happen! We're going to go to a marina soon and look at some boats...
what do you like to do in your spare time?
Knit. Crochet. Scrapbook. Bake.
what's your favorite genre for TV programs?
I love sit-coms.
what's your favorite genre for music?I like pop. Lame, I know, but I like it.
what's your favorite song that's sad?
"To Where You Are" by Josh Groban
what's your favorite soppy film?
Hmm. I like Steel Magnolias a lot. I don't know, though. I'm not good at picking favorites.
how about your favorite chick flick?
Aren't they the same thing?
what are you looking forward to at the moment?
School starting on my birthday! Best. Present. Ever.
what are you dreading at the moment?
Having to take out my nose ring if I do indeed sub teach.
how would you describe your personality?
A lot goofy, silly, often dirty, very nerdish and dorky, but in a fun-funny way. Rarely serious. Caring. Emotional. Prone to outbursts. Sarcastic and bitchy at times. Alla that.
if you had a personality eraser, what part of yours might you erase?
That sarcastic and bitchy part, maybe. A little sarcasm is okay, but mine can be very biting, and I don't like that, especially when it's directed to hubs and the chirren.
you are given $5000 to spend in 1 day, what do you do with it? remember, no limitations!
Right now, I would use it on clothes for all five of us, including the kids' sports gear. If there was anything left, yarn. (I'd want to spend it all on yarn, though!)
what is your biggest fear?
The death of another one of my children.
Fin.

'mystery' shopping...is that where you shop and then critique it for a company?
My Sunday Stealing is now posted. Hope you can stop by to join me...HERE.

What age range are you looking to sub for? And do you absolutely have to remove the nose ring? I had a sub in my classroom while I was student teaching that had a much larger ring in her nose.

You're so lucky to be that close to the beach.
Have a great Sunday.
