Tuesday's CVS Steals and Deals

Special thanks to Crystal at The Thrifty Mama™ for helping me to put together these CVS deals!

{But first, I have to say, I messed up! I had $11 in Walgreens Register Rewards from shopping the deals there two weeks ago, and they expired yesterday, before I got a chance to use them!  I called up the manager at one store, and went into the store and spoke to the Manager at another, to try and see if they would still take them, but neither would accept them. I'm so bummed!  So remember, if you're going to do the Register Rewards (RRs) deals at Walgreens and Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) at CVS, use them up. They expire quickly, especially the RRs. I could kick myself!}

The above represents four different CVS transactions, which I'll break down below. The total value is $75.36 plus tax, but my total OOP (out of pocket) was $5.68, of which $2.67 was tax!!! I saved about 93% when you include tax. Pretty awesome. The breakdown:

002

#1: Total OOP was $1.78, including:

- (2) CoverGirl Clean pressed powders, valued at $6.19, on sale for $6 each. I had a B1G1 coupon and a $1 coupon, making it $5 for both, PLUS it spit out a $5 ECB for my next purchase, essentially making this FREE! (If you want to do this deal, use these same two coupons from the 2/7 Proctor & Gamble insert, and your CVS Extra Care Card)

- Aussie Moist conditioner, valued at $4.29, on sale for $2.99. I had a $1 off coupon, and it spit out a $2 ECB for my next purchase, making this essentially FREE!

- Missing from pic: 1 CVS "green" bag, which I had to buy only because I forgot to bring my canvas bags and refuse to use plastic whenever possible, and I wanted to use my CVS Green Bag Tag. Total = 99¢

So my total after sales and coupons was $7.98, and I had $7 in ECBs from doing the deals a week or two ago, making it 98¢. With tax, OOP = $1.78 for the above!

003

#2: Total OOP was 17¢, including:

- Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield Rinse, valued at $5.39 & on sale for $3.50. It spit out $3.50 in ECBs for #3, and I had a $2-off coupon from the 2/7 P&G, making this a $2 moneymaker!

- Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield Toothpaste, valued at $3.89 & on sale for $3.50. It spit out $3.50 in ECBs for #3, and I had a 75¢-off coupon from the 2/7 P&G, making this a 75¢ moneymaker!

- Missing from picture was a bag of CVS 10-ct menthol cough drops, which I need as a "filler" item to get my total up, for 50¢

So my total after sales and coupons was $4.75, and I had $4.75 in ECBs from #1, making it 0¢. With tax, OOP = 17¢ for the above!

004

#3: Total OOP was $2.66, including:

- 3-ct Gillette Mach3 Disposable Razors, valued at $9.49, on sale for $5.79. I had a coupon for $3 off, and it spit out $2 in ECBs for #4, essentially making this 79¢

- Neutrogena Clean Replenishing Shampoo, valued at $5.99, full price. I had a $2 coupon

- Neutrogena Clean Replenishing Conditioner, valued at $5.99, full price. I had a $2 coupon. Together, the two Neutrogena products spit out a $5 ECB for #4

So my total after sales and coupons was $10.77, and I had $9 in ECBs from #1 & 2, making it $1.77. With tax, OOP = $2.66 for the above!

005

#1: Total OOP was $1.07, including:

- (2) Starburst GummiBursts, valued at 89¢ each, on sale for 2/$1

- Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo Length & Strength, valued at $3.99, on sale for $2.88, and I had a $1 coupon

- Garnier Fructis Fortifying Conditioner Lenth & Strength, with attached bonus GF styling product, valued at $3.99, on sale for $2.88, and I had a $1 coupon

- (4) Nature's Bounty Vitamin D 100-ct bottles, valued at $4.99 each, on sale B1G1 for 1¢, and I had (4) $2 coupons (which you can use even with B1G1 sales at CVS!)

- Missing: CVS 10-ct menthol cough drops, again for filler along with the Starburst, for 50¢

So my total after sales and coupons was $7.26, and I had $7 in ECBs from #3, making it 26¢. With tax, OOP = $1.07 for the above!

********

So some pretty great deals, and I was very happy with this CVS trip! I didn't come home with any ECBs for next time, so along with Walgreens, I'll have to start all over the next time.

A few notes:

(1) I won a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate today, for submitting coupons to Deal Seeking Mom's (Tara) Coupon Database! I use the database every week: I list the coupons I get from the Sunday paper, mailbox inserts, printables, and everywhere else, so I always know what coupons I have for doing these deals. When Tara doesn't have a coupon already in her database that I have - especially because lots of Sunday coupons vary by region - I submit one for a chance each time for that $25 GC. And I won!! I'm so excited; this will add to my stash of Amazon credit.

(2) I'm almost ready to cash in for my third $5 Amazon.com GC from Swagbucks! I have 40SB already racked up again, and I'm hoping to have that GC by the end of the week, if not sooner. Start using it today!

(3) I got one of my mail-in rebate checks back in the mail today! It was $15, and I didn't keep careful notes of the MIRs, but I do believe it was from Coors for my free Thanksgiving turkey. I didn't even have to buy any beer! If you can wait the time it takes to get those MIR checks back, they're totally worth it.

(4) ??? I know I had a #4, but it is escaping me at the moment. Hopefully it'll come back to me by the time you click on over to read this! ;)

Fin.
