Feel free to skip through these "days" if you're not interested in seeing the kids' presents, because cataloging them is pretty much all I'm going to accomplish here, I think!
Some of the faces in these Christmas photos will seem absolutely posed and contrived. They were. I entertain myself, what can I say? Chloë chose the biggest present in her pile this day. She went first.
Ooh, what is it, what is it, what is it??
I love her pose in this picture. I scored this telescope from Amazon.com for free with Swagbucks cash, too - whoo! It was really for all three of the kids, but I needed it in Chloë's pile. I'm so excited to finally have a telescope! I've wanted one forever. Next year, hopefully we'll add a microscope, too. Daddy took them out that night to look through it (prompting lots of jokes in the ensuing weeks about the rings and moons around Uranus), but we don't exactly live in the boonies, so... we'll have to figure out where to go.
I've had this Hot Wheels Monster Truck in my gift closet for ages! He knew about it, so I was glad he wasn't disappointed to get it, since you never know with that boy. Smiles are always real on Jack.
I got lots of (I think) good "reaction" pictures out of Sophia this Christmas season. This is not the best one - there are many more great ones to come - but it prompted me to remember how wonderful it is to have genuinely happy reactions out of the kids when they discovered what their present was. 'Tis truly better to give than to receive.
Yeah, they wanted Pillow Pets (darn hotel TVs! They'd never have known about 'em otherwise), but I went the cheapy route with these Cuddlee Pets I picked up on the Tennessee trip. They don't know the difference, or if they do, they don't care, so it's all good. The kids take them everywhere we go now!
Fin.
