Field Trip: Winter Wonderland At Hunt Club Farm
I'm Too Sexy For This Post

Still Talkin' 'Bout Poop

Richmond 030

Today, I took my Daisy troop to the nice garden center down the road, in order for them to be able to get their hands dirty and have a sensory experience with different types of soil. I had attempted to bring a soil expert into our meeting area, but that didn't work out, so off we went on our first field trip!

I wanted them to touch and smell different soil types, and our facilitator did a great job of setting it up so they had 8 or 10 varieties. Of course, being 5- and 6-year-old girls, they had a giggle-fest when he told them that two of the composts contained poop - after their hands were already in it! Hee.

I'm not sure the mothers agreed with me that this was such a great idea. Heh.
