Saturday 9: Do You Wanna Dance?

1. When was the last time that you danced in public?

Tuesday, at the music shoppe where the kids get their instrument lessons. Some people were jamming on various instruments, and I couldn't help it, I got movin'!

2. Tell us about one of your closest friends.

Hubby is my very closest friend. We are celebrating our oldest baby's 11th birthday today, and it brings back lots of memories for us, since she was conceived on our wedding night (TMI?! :P) and born the day before my 25th birthday. She's a joy! And so is her daddy. ♥

3. What is the most that you have ever lost?

I lost my mother as a very young girl, and I lost of my twin sons 3 days after they were born, 9½ years ago. Both major losses for me.

4. What was the last thing that you have done to help a neighbor?

I sent Sophia upstairs to help carry up some things to them. Okay, so technically that's Sophia helping, but they just moved in yesterday, so give me a minute!

5. It’s election season. What do you think the priorities of the United States really should be?

The economy, education, environment, and equality. Four "e"s.

6. What was the last severe weather situation that you and your neighbors endured?

We had a good-sized thunderstorm the other day, but so far Hurricane Season 2012 hasn't been too bad for Hampton Roads.

7. Have you been or are you a vegetarian? Thoughts?

Right now I'm a semi-vegetarian, but I've been everything from that to full-on vegan in the past 15 or so years. I think it's the way humans were meant to be.

8. If you had a wish for your future, what would it be?

Peace and contentment in my heart.

9. Who just doesn’t get it?

His initials are M.R. and his name rhymes with "Shit Omni." ;)

23. Why do you think so many people cheat?

I think there as many reasons as there are people who do, and it's not for me to say.

24. Tell me what's on your mind?

My Nikon. It's missing, and I think our neighbors stole it. I can't prove it and am afraid I won't be getting it back. :*(

25. What are you looking forward to in the next three months?

Starting our third year of homeschooling, my daughter's and my birthday next weekend... hopefully finishing this never-ending move of ours!
 
26. Have you ever worn the opposite sex's clothing?

I wear my hubby's clothes all the time, now that I'm small enough to fit in them!

25. When did you last talk to your BFF?

The other day on FB. It's been a while on the phone, and much longer in person. I miss her!!

28. When is your next road trip?

We just took a short one to Richmond on Friday. And in two weeks, we're driving up to Baltimore/D.C. for a couple of days...

29. Do you have someone of the opposite sex you can tell anything to?

Yes, Hubs is my soulmate. I tell him everything. ♥

30. How's your heart?

31. Have you ever felt like you weren't important?

I certainly have felt like a throwaway person before, and let me tell you, it SUCKS!

32. Do you think somebody's secretly in love with you?

Nah, not as far as I know!

33. What are you planning on doing after this?

Getting back to my reports from Friday's trip to Richmond... I had 14 to do and am about 2/3 done, so I need to get hopping!

34. Last time you yelled at someone?

Friday in the car. I yelled at Jack, my son, who threw something from the back-back seat up front, and it hit me and my steering wheel while I was driving. I really lit into him for that!

35. Have you told anybody you loved them today?

I have, yes. I told my daughter, Chloë, who woke up in the middle of the night.

36. Who do you not get along with?

People who try to take control of the situation - and me - when I am the one supposed to be in charge. I hate taker-overers!

37. What does your most recent text say?

I asked Hubs if he was sleeping. He didn't answer.  I took that as a yes.

38. What are you wearing right now?

Oh, are we doing that now? I wasn't prepared... I'm wearing a t-shirt and a skirt, and some skivvies ;P

39. You're locked in a room with the person you last kissed in high school, how is it?

Hm. Not so good. He's out of the closet now. I knew he was gay then, but apparently he wasn't ready to admit it!

40. When's the last time you had a grilled cheese?

A few weeks ago, maybe a month. Hubs makes the BEST grilled cheese ever!!

41. What's your favorite boy and girl name?

I love my kids' names: the girls are Chloë Raine & Sophia Lorelei. The twins are/were Jack River and Robert William. I wasn't as big a fan of Robby's name, but I let Hubs have a baby named after him and his mentor/father-figure, and it's grown on me. And if Sophie had been twin girls, her sister would have been Victoria Jane. I like that, too. And...okay, I'll stop there.

42. How did you feel when you woke up?

I slept for about 24 hours straight, waking up briefly here and there. I had a migraine. I felt okay when I woke up, albeit mad at myself for missing a whole day!

43. Do you wish someone would call or text you right now?

Yeah. It's 0534, a lonely hour of the morn.

44. Do you think Clint Eastwood would have been better talking to a table?

OMG. Was that ridiculous or what?! I was a bigger fan of his - never huge, but enough - until that happened. Now... fizzle.

45. What were you doing yesterday at midnight?

I was completely zonked out for once!

Saturday 9: Always The Last To Know

1. When was the most recent time that you felt that you were the last to know something important?

 

Just now at CVS. They changed their coupon policy on me again. This morning. Would have been nice to know before I put in all the effort of getting them together. :\

 

2. Have you ever had a good thing in your life that never ended?

 

I'm hoping this marriage thing falls into that category... going on 12 years now. ♥

 

3. Do you have any nasty habits?

 

No, but I do fart a lot. Hahaha... it's true, I can't lie. Or even claim that it started after the gastric bypass surgery. :P

 

4. What is something that you still do that you thought you'd outgrow?

 

Blush and panic when the attention is on me :(

 

5. Have you lost any of your dreams as time went by?

 

Lost, no... changed, yes.

 

6. As you've grown older, what ways do you still act and think the way you did as when you were younger?

 

I'm a total "Type A" personality, always have been, and I epitomize that... so I stress and fret and worry and hyperanalyze everything to death.

 

7. Is there a person in your life who still treats you as the same person you were when younger? Do you like it?

 

Until VERY recently, and sometimes still, my Dad has and does. No, I don't like it, but I guess he probably always will. But I finally got some cajones and stood up to him in a very big way a few months ago, and I think it made him realize I'm not seven years old anymore.

 

8. Have you let yourself go wild in any aspect of your life?

 

Yes, and that's all I'm going to say - and probably need to - about that. ;P

 

9. How do (or did) you parents feel about what you do for a living?

My dad was on the fence about me being a Biologist, especially with my keen interest in Genetics and Evolution, etc., because of his beliefs. The first time I ever remember him telling me he was proud of me was when I got married and became a mommy. I've been "just a mommy" ever since - but not because he said that!
