Sunday Stealing: The King Of The Beasts Meme

Link up here if you're playing along today...

Here we GO!

*

  1. Would you post a picture of you for us?
  2. This would be moi, Saturday morning.

    2. Would you date an 18-year-old at the age you are now?

Never say never, but I do not think so.

  1. Do you prefer to work with women or men? Why?

I prefer working with men. Women can be fun and interesting, but I have found they are generally catty and gossipy, and I don't want the same treatment when I am not there. Men usually don't care about that petty BS; they are just there to work and maybe enjoy the time passed as best they can.

  1. Do you have any opposite sex friends?

I have plenty!

  1. 5. Can you commit to one person?
  2. It has been admittedly hard for me, but we've been married for 15 years and still going strong.

    6. If you’re married or in a relationship have you ever been tempted to cheat?

  1. Do you think your life will change dramatically before 2018?

I'm certain it will. There is never a dull moment in my life.

  1. If the person you are interested in says they like someone else, what would try to sway them?

I'm too old for that nonsense. I'd just move on...

  1. Are you good at hiding your feelings?

No way. I'm Bipolar; there is no hiding of these "emotions," as you say.

  1. When was the last time you cried?
  2. Saturday afternoon and into the evening, off and on; people just did some terribly nice things for us, and it meant a lot to me.
  3. 12. Have you ever fallen for someone you didn’t expect to?

  1. Dudes, I'm not 14. I don't, like, have a crush on anyone.
  2. What is something you have to do tomorrow?
  3. I have to get my kids to the pool while staying out of the sun myself. It's difficult here in Miami; the sun is pretty inescapable this time of year.

    14. Name something you dislike about the day you’re having.

I'm coming off a medication that wreaked holy hell on my mind and body while I was on it, and it is still doing so in withdrawal. I kind of hate it. A lot.

  1. Have you ever wanted more from one of your best friends of the opposite sex?
  2. Boring.

    16. Have you ever wanted someone you couldn’t have?

Stupid.

  1. Who was the last person you talked to before you went to bed last night?

2016-06-12 17.39.23

Bobby the Hubby, and our three pups!

  1. Do you have someone of the opposite sex you can tell everything to?
  2. Same guy as above ;)

    19. When was the last time that you were jealous in a romance situation?

bahhhh we need one for us older folk!

  1. If you had to delete one year of your life completely, which would it be?

  2. IMG_20151229_143351

Hmm... Maybe this year? It's been pretty rough. I keep thinking it can't get worse, and then it actually has. I'm OVER IT!

21. Did you have a good day yesterday? What did you do?

I can't even remember. Stupid fibro fog!!

22. If a person you had wished you could have a relationship with for a long time and you suddenly found yourself together alone, what would you be doing right now?

Uh, staring off into space awkwardly, no doubt. We unfriended each other on Facebook long ago. LOL

23. Do you replay things that have happened in your head?

Doesn't everyone? Only, I do it for years. Decades, even. It's a problem.

24. Don’t tell me lies, is the last person you texted attractive?

I am NOT posting a picture for obvious reasons, but I will say that Hubs and I were just talking about said person and I believe I said the words "trashy" and "is not aging well." So...

25. Is your life anything like it was two years ago? Is it a good or bad thing?

I'm the one who has been really sick for the past year instead of my husband, so no and yes. Hard sayin'!

I'm getting in on the action late, so I'll just stop there. Thanks for the visit!

GIVEAWAY!! And Product Review: NeilMed Naspira For Babies & Kids

DSC_0838

Disclaimer: I received this product for free from the sponsor of the Moms Meet program (greenmomsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my opinion on my blog. My opinions do not necessarily reflect the opinions of May Media Group LLC or the manufacturer of this product.

First, I'm going to review the NeilMed NasaFlo NetiPot, which is available here for $15.99 or $17.99, depending on whether you want a clear pot design or the blue porcelain design, like I was given. (You can also find it in plenty of stores nationwide, like RiteAid, Walgreens, and Walmart, and also online at Amazon.com, drugstore.com, and lots more - so shop around if you're a deal shopper like I am.)

DSC_0840

You need to use distilled water with your NetiPot, as well as the saline Sinus Rinse packets (also provided to me for free, and 50 packets come in the box with the pot). My kids were sick before I was, so both Jack, aged 13, and Chloë, aged 14, learned to use it before I did. Okay, okay, let's be fair, here: I still haven't learned to use it, and I have to have one of the kids or my husband set it up for me when I need to use it!

I was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia in May, and I'm still recovering well over a month later, so I have had plenty of opportunities to use the NetiPot myself.

(We're such hams.)

As you can see, I have a giant nose ring in my right nostril all the time, so I wondered to myself whether that would be a problem with the NetiPot, which is used by breathing normally through the mouth whilst pouring the saline solution in one nostril and letting it drain out the other nostril (then switch).

Well, was it?

(Hammy, hammy hams.)

Not a problem at all! I don't know if it would be if I'd have had a septum piercing instead, but ahhh, I don't, so I'm not sure. ;)

For adults and older kids, I give a big thumbs-up to the NeilMed Naspira NetPot! A friend of mine was sick the other day, so I gave her another new NetiPot I had received from NeilMed for a campaign, and told her how to use it. I haven't seen her since, so I can't report back how she is now, but as for me, well when my daughter's pediatrician recommended it to her, and then my own primary care doctor recommended it to me for my blocked ears, I finally bucked up and gave it a try. It worked, and I can hear!

And now for the review and giveaway of the NeilMed Naspira for Babies & Kids.

Chloë, my very petite teenager, was my guinea pig for this since I don't have very small ones of my own anymore (sniff). (You can see the ham apple doesn't fall far from the apple ham tree - or is it ham apple tree? Either way, yeah.)

Here's the product in its package, which is available online or in stores for about $9.99 - $14.99.

The Babies & Kids Naspira comes with the bulb aspirator, seven filters (one is already on the aspirator), and the net storage bag. It's a pretty simple set-up, really. You can take off the hose and use the nasal aspirator on older kids by itself, using the traditional hand-squeezing method, or you can put the hose on for babies, and use the orange suction piece in the caregiver's mouth the help suck out the oogie-boogies in the babies nose. There is a filter in place so, as yucky as it may sound, you never um, suck down the contents of your congested baby's nose!

I highly recommend this product for the younger set, and I tried it with my older kid. We found it simple and well-designed, though we definitely relied on this video from Nielmed for further instruction on use and sterilization:

Saturday 9: As Long As You Love Me

Link up here if you're playing along today! I haven't blogged in over two weeks, and I've almost forgotten how!

Saturday 9: As Long As You Love Me (1997)

... Because Bookstraveller suggested The Backstreet Boys. Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

~*~*~*~

1) This video shows the boys in the band nervously await an audition. When were you last nervous?

Probably on Monday, when I went to see the neurologist and was put on a new medication to treat my migraines. P.S. It did not go well, and I wanted to die. I had almost all the major call-the-doctor-now side effects listed for it! Needless to say, I threw all the pills away.

2) BSB Brian Littrell was born with a congenital heart problem and had open heart surgery the year this song was released. Who is the last person you visited in the hospital?

It has been a long time since I visited someone else in the hospital, but I was there last month for about three months. I had mycoplasma pneumonia.

3) Littrell had different health trouble in 2009. While working in Japan, he contracted swine flu, which caused the band to cancel several events. Have you battled a cold or flu this summer?

This summer has only been a week! But yeah, I've got something. I don't know what...

4) When you feel a cold coming on, what's your favorite remedy?

I don't really treat a cold. I just do a lot of hand-washing and suffer through it.

5) Brian and his cousin, fellow BSB member Kevin Richardson, are both from Kentucky and have been inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. According to their website, if you tour the Hall of Fame you'll see exhibits that celebrate Kentucky's contribution to American music. Do you enjoy museums? Or do you think they're a snooze?

I love museums! I wish my kids loved and respected them as much as I do, but they're still at the "when do we get to the fun stuff?" phase of life. I think that's a sign that I'm actually adulting?

6) BSB Nick Carter was named one of People magazine's "Most Beautiful People in the World." Who is someone you think is especially gorgeous?

Julia Roberts. I love that woman and think she can do no wrong, srsly.

7) This spring Nick became a father for the first time. Is anyone in your life expecting a baby this year?

I don't think anyone super close to me, but some friends are, and some acquaintances.

8) The band has been involved in ongoing litigation with their first manager, saying he had been dishonest with them about how much they had earned. Tell us about someone you trusted, but shouldn't have.

Some friends who turned out to be using me for money I don't have. They really burned me badly, and I hate to think about it.

9) The band's record-breaking 1999 tour was sponsored by the Sears department store chain. Sam remembers the twice-a-year shopping trips to Sears -- spring and fall -- with her mother to update Sam's school wardrobe. What's the last article of clothing you bought?

How fun! I assume Sam did that in Chicago; my family went to Macy's in NYC. Anyway, hmm... for me? It was probably a pair of black heeled Crocs shoes. I admit, I love Crocs and have about six pairs in different colors and styles. SO comfortable! ;)

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Wordless Wednesday: A New Lease On Lacey

2016-06-08 16.45.05

Sophia decided she was ready to stop riding Buddy exclusively after five months, and she switched to a more challenging mare instead this past week: Lacey! ♥ Welcome, Lacey! ♥

Feeling wordless today (okay, so it was yesterday; shh!) yourself? Link up here with 5 Minutes For Mom to participate in the fun!

Our GoPro Show - The Ridiculous Introduction

So, Sophia and I had this idea. We're pretty goofy when we hang out together, and one of us said, once, a while ago, that it would be funny if we had cameras on us the whole time so we could see what we were like from someone else's perspective.

And thus, our GoPro Show was born.

Behold, Season 1, Episode 1: The Ridiculous Introduction

Be forewarned: There is some (ahem, somewhat gratuitous) swearing in the video. If you don't care for that sort of thing, like, ever, then maybe just don't watch. ;)

And yes, it's silly.
