The Burrito Has Landed

It's not the greatest art photo in the world, I know, but after a long wait, we just wanted to get the show on the road! We bought this on our European cruise, which ended 7 July, so we have anxiously awaited its arrival for the past 6½ months.

It is Deep Night Romance by Romero Britto, though to me it will always be "The Burrito." Go have a look, and a listen. I don't feel like doing much right now, but the music makes me want to get up and boogie. Maybe you will; I'll just sit here and sip my sugar-free-apple-thinned low-fat-oatmeal lunch and watch.

I like it. No, I love it. We love. It symbolizes so much for us, words that don't come right now. (Sorry for the typing, I still can't see straight.)

I'm happy it finally arrived!

A Nice Thing

In June of '07, our little family drove all the way to central Missouri for Rob's family reunion. Whilst there, his mom took me to an arty little shop in Columbia that she knew I would enjoy. I can't remember the name of it (in my head I have Blue Moon, but I know that's not right; I'm sure she'll email me with the right name as soon as she reads this!), but she was right. It had lots of very cool things in it, and I had a great time looking at all the interesting and eclectic pieces. I wanted so many things.

Then I found the Story People art by Brian Andreas. They were all so cool. You can see more of them here.

I found this one, "Dark Garden". If you can't see it, it reads, "I once had a garden filled with flowers that grew only on dark thoughts ... but they need constant attention and one day I decided I had better things to do."

It really spoke to me. So much so, that I was moved to tears. That had never happened to me before.

And what did MIL do? She bought it for me. Which moved me even more.

I still have it in the plastic, because I haven't found the perfect frame and the perfect place to hang it. I think I shall put that at the top of my project to-do list.

It was a very nice thing. I can use the sentiment now.
